ESPERANDO ASSOCIATION

 

ROMANIA

 

Founded in 2001 by parents of disabled children, Esperando Association became one of the best known organizations working in the field in Maramures County, and also in Romania. But even so, most of the funds for the activities have to be raised by the Association from private sources, because the public subventions are inconsistent and incoherent. In October 2001 Baia Mare Day Care Recuperation Centre for Disabled Children and Youth was opened, further on developing a network of services in Botiza and Cavnic. Esperando assists disabled children and adults who either attend the activities in its day care centre or get home care services. The activities in the Centre are mostly based on recuperation, physical therapy, physiotherapy, therapy with games, music therapy, hydrotherapy, special education, speech therapy, development of independent life skills, psychological counselling for children and parents, parents support groups, practical activities and handworks, socializing and inclusion activities etc. We personalize the interventions for each kid or adult. The Association provides education also to parents and to staff. We offer support, information and help to families, disabled adults and people in need. We also try to have activities with our clients as much as possible in the community: we organize selling, shows, we go to museums, shops, trips and so on. We offer rehabilitation services at home for patients that can't move or walk. Esperando is member in all the national umbrella organizations in Romania in the area of disability and child protection. Since 2011, Esperando Association is an accredited provider of trainings and support for employment. At European level, Esperando became a very active organization, involved in several projects, some of them as coordinating partner. As a result of the work in these projects, the activities a developed and grew in Baia Mare Centre. Also, as recognition for the good work, the Association was invited to represent Romania in several European and Romanian Conferences regarding European projects. We are the initiators and the coordinators of this project. We will coordinate the partnership, propose the work plan, ask for contributions and opinions, evaluate and disseminate the project and the results and coordinate the project meetings. 

 


 

 AARHUS SOCIAL AND HEALTH CARE COLLEGE

 

DENMARK

 

Aarhus Social and Health Care College is the second largest in DK and runs a number of different short termed educational programs and supplementary training of educated staff members from social and health care intuitions for elderly, homecare for elderly, hospitals and psychiatry. The College offer social and health care educational programs at 3 levels and offers special educational intro programs for immigrants and refugees. The College has 150 fulltime employees and approximately 30 external professionals. The 150 fulltime employees cover about 110 educational staff members. In 2010 the college had 850 yearly students – divided on more than 1500 different persons. (a yearly student is a figure covering 1 person in 40 weeks with 30 lessons a week). The college is among one of the only one in Denmark that includes a multimedia department. The college is one of the leading developers of interactive web and producer of interactive pedagogical and learning material. We are cooperating with more than 100 different partners in more than 30 countries all over the world. The turnover in 2010 was app. 12 mill Euros and is expected to be 16 mill Euros in 2013. When it comes to developing and providing different kinds of more flexible and accessible ways of educational programs for different kinds of students the College has for many years been the most innovative college in the social and health area in Denmark. The reason for that is the College’s highly developed pedagogical, didactical competences in developing, producing and using interactive webbased material. The College is responsible for the recruitment of students to ensure that the social and health institutions have enough competent social and health staff available. Before the financial crisis in 2008 we faced for the first time the consequences of the demographic development; that we during a longer period not were able to recruit enough students. It was a problem we faced together with the rest of the social and health care colleges in DK and with colleges in other professional areas too. We know from partners abroad, that they faced the same challenges at that time. In a post financial crisis period, this problem will soon be a reality again for many member states and regions in the EU. Before the crisis we discussed with some of our huge customers, how were could establish and organize educational programs for people abroad.

 


 

 

 CNIS -  ITALY

 

The Association CNIS it is on the list of qualified associations (MIUR) and the list of accredited associations for staff training of the MPI School. Its main features are distinguished by efforts to update teachers, with a close link with university researchers in the field of disability. The President is a Professor and pro--Chancellor at the University of Padua. C.N.I.S. promotes teacher training through a variety of activities with the following aims: 

- promoting studies and research in the field of psychopathology, learning, psychology of disability situations and individual educational intervention;

- encouraging the widespread of information, of scientific and technical knowledge among those who work in these areas of research, teacher training, teaching.

The association aims at:

-contributing to study programmes and research carried out by scientific institutes; -carrying out surveys, studies and research directly

-publishing or divulge monographs, documents, papers

-organizing congresses and meetings, carrying out training and cultural courses, participating in congresses, conferences and meetings on topics relevant to the aims of the Association; -maintaining contacts with the Italian and foreign operators in this field. On a national level congresses are organized which are attended by well- known international scholars. On a decentralized level it is represented by Local Branches (on a regional, inter-provincial, inter-municipal or municipal level). Locally, the Branches operate with different types of proposals We organize high level trainings, seminars, workshops on specific topics, laboratories, specific training to draw up learning material . We have a long experience in pedagogic and reading tools and strategies to improve the processes of education, in training the teachers and parents., so we can have an important role of training in this project, spreading our long experience on partners. With this project CNIS aims to widen the European dimension of the Association through the contribution of the participants, to overcome the actual diversity problems in the cross-cultural dimension of lifelong learning programme.


 

SILE LIFELONG LEARNING EDUCATION CENTER

 TURKEY

Şile Lifelong Learning Education Center started its operation in 1965. Our institution completed formal education or who have interrupted in any part of the formal education and among persons who are primarily serve individuals (seminar, course, panel etc.) over the age of 16. On the other hand, Our trainings are going such as reading - writing learning, development of professional skills, hobbies ( such as handmade toys, Şile cloth weaving and Şile embroidery, textile, needle lace, wood painting, drawing, filigree),social and cultural activities in the areas. In addition we educate the trainees about entrepreneurship to start-up support or promotion their entrepreneurial activities. The Center continuously serve 57 in the village 25 different branches, 35 teachers, 150 kinds of course with 06-75 years of over 1500 trainees in 2012. Since 2006, Open-Public Elementary School and Open-Public School register operations are carried out at our center. Our center is being disadvantaged area. There are lots of trainees with specific needs (at risk of social exclusion, migrants, disabled) in our center. We educate them various kind of subjects to help finding an available job for themselves. To manage courses who are disadvantaged learners will be the main role in this project . SILEHEM assists disabled trainees who either attend the courses find a good job. The activities in the Centre are mostly based on practical activities and handworks. We personalize the interventions for each trainee or adult. The center provides education also to parents and to staff. We offer seminar, workshop and help to families, disabled adults and people whatever they need. We also try to have activities with our trial trainees as much as possible in the center and out of the center: we organize some workshop about drama, music, sightseeing tours, we go to malls, theater and so on. Center is located in multi purpose hall, 2 computer labs, for the public internet, produced by trainees products offered for sale is a sales booth, gymnastics hall, hairdresser workshop, clothing workshop, painting workshop and music classroom. In addition, there is pre-school education for trainees’ children.  In addition, courses are opened the demands and needs of our people. Seminar and conferences are given about current issues. Panels and a variety of activities are compose by us.


 

CERIBU SPARNI

LATVIA

Society for children with disabilities and youth „Cerību spārni” (Wings of hope) was founded in 2003 with aim to support disabled children and youth to integrate in society, to support the families with disabled children, and also raise awareness of society on rights to equal opportunities of disabled children. Since 2004 the Society provides rehabilitation services for disabled children and youth from families with low income. The Society offers following services: therapeutic exercises, music therapy, artistic therapy, sand therapy, speech therapy, light theatre, dance and movement therapy, canis (dogs) therapy, reittherapy (horse therapy), babysitting. Children are able to participate in summer camps organized by the Society during the summer holidays. It is a place and time for parents of disabled children with similar every-day problems to meet and have an educational lectures, workshops and self-help groups to share their experience and support each other. The Society has started to develop an extensive project „Cerību sēta” (The Yard of hope) since 2010. It will be a place, where community based service for youth with disabilities will be provided. The service will include accommodation, training of different practical and handicraft skills and appropriate employment for disabled youth after graduating the school. The Society has experience of taking part in decision making process and is involved in several work groups of Ministry of Welfare of Latvia. Society is member organization of Association "Latvian Movement for Independent Living" .


 

APPC

PORTUGAL

APCC is a private institution of social solidarity and a non profit making organization, created in 1975, to face the needs of people with disabilities and special needs. The APCC has taken over many services as Rehabilitation services which includes several Departments (Clinical , Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology, Social Work,etc), Kinder Garden and a School that belongs to the Ministry of Education ,Vocational Training, Occupational Activities,Job Placement, Accessibility and a Centre of Adult Education, International Projects, Residential Units, between others. A Department of Projects with 19 years of experience designing and managing covers a wide range of fields from Youth, Culture, Lifelong Learning, Diversity, Employability, CSR, Social Inclusion,Innovation, Sports,between others. APCC is certified by ISO 9001, preparing the submission of EQUASS Excellence. The families is a critical and important APCC's stakeholder. Therefore beyond a specific Department of Family Support (GAF) there is a significant monitoring through research, collaboration and advocacy on the part of multi-disciplinary teams. The knowledge with disabilities is approached from a variety of perspectives, ranging from the interpersonal to the political. Multiple complex influences frequently adversely affect the lives of those living with disabilities and their families. In many instances, it is not the developmental disability(DD) per se that creates challenges for an individual with DD and the family, but rather society’s response to the individual’s condition. This project represents an important way to follow this view. In this project APCC will collaborate on: a) management of disables by families and services; b) collaborating in the matrix and dimensions of analysis designing the questionnaires; c) from the results of questionnaires it will be possible to promote training and seminars /workshops focused on the critical aspects about the management of those particular themes and points; d) APCC directly or cooperating with other organizations in the territory , can manage all the operative strategies and actions designed by the project, cooperating with different kind of practitioners through a working methodology that allows to work towards a single goal of dissemination and exploitation of results.


 

 APOCLAM

SPAIN

The Professional Association of psychologists in Castilla-La Mancha (APOCLAM) is a non-profit association that is composed by more than 400 professionals dedicated to the school guidance in the region of Castilla-La Mancha. We are psychologists, secondary school teachers and therapists who freely and independently organize ourselves to improve our work for the benefit of the students with specific needs, teachers and families. Among our main activities we highlights the organization of courses for guidance educational advisers to treat with different problems and issues like social integration, disabailities, giving them lots of resources and tools to face these particular problems. Periodical meetings, publications with news for being updated, workshops, conferences, etc. are some of these activities. Furthermore, we are in close contact with Regional University as for the next coming teachers training is referred.

Consequently our main goals are:

• • To improve education in those areas that we are working, especially, the school at both public and private sector.

• • To establish a via to facilitate the communication of all the members, to share experiences and materials and to promote initiatives.

• • To contribute to the training of their partners, teachers in general and families by means of the organization of congresses, courses, seminars, workshops, conferences, etc.

• • To promote collaboration with the University of Castile-La Mancha, and other institutions in a local, regional and national scope

• • To make possible a contribution, with all the actions of our institution, to achieve the goal of a quality educational system for all.

The intention of taking part in this european cooperative work is to take to exchange practices and good experiences on family educational field and to learn how to integrate into our work new methodological approaches.
